Private tech companies continue to hit stratospheric valuations. SpaceX remains the top private firm, reaching a $400 billion valuation in July 2025. ByteDance (TikTok’s parent) rose to $330 billion in late summer, and OpenAI skyrocketed to $300 billion after a $40 billion funding round in April. Other notable unicorns: Anthropic is now ~$183 billion after a $13B round in Sept 2025, and Elon Musk’s xAI (merged with X) is ~$113 billion. In total, 63 new companies became unicorns in 2025, led by AI-focused ventures. For instance, Thinking Machines Lab (founded Feb 2025) hit a $12 billion valuation by July after raising $2B. Altogether, the 10 largest startups are worth about $1.665 trillion, underscoring how investors are pouring money into cutting-edge tech.
